After closing out the annual Formula Kart Productions Florida Winter Tour (FWT) in late March, Floridian pilot AJ Myers has been on a tear scoring multiple race wins and podium results. Running in a handful of karting disciplines including Rok, Rotax and gearbox divisions, Myers has shown his diversity by adapting to all three and running towards the pointy end of the grid.

“I have had a lot of fun and have been doing very well in the Rok Cup USA program, Florida Karting Championship Series (FKCS) and North Florida Rotax Max Challenge (NFRMC),” explained Myers. “I have finished all my races inside the top-five which includes three victories and six podium results.”

Myers’ results largely have come from the Rok Senior division in the Rok Cup USA program. Running in stand-alone events as well as Florida Karting Championship Series weekends, Myers has flexed his muscles against some of North America’s top karting pilots. With multiple pole positions, Myers has gone one to score victories at both the Homestead Karting Complex and this past weekend at the RaceComplex facility in Ft. Myers, Florida.

Myers continued, “This past weekend was a blast for me as I was able to compete in my first ever StockHonda event. I was able to run against more than twenty other drivers and managed to come home with a fifth place effort. The shifterkart is a lot different than anything else I have ever driven. With a six-speed gearbox and four wheel disc brakes, the acceleration and braking forces are second to none.”

A few weeks prior, Myers was seen a little bit further north in the Sunshine State competing at the Ocala Gran Prix facility in Ocala, Florida. Looking to gain the necessary punches to compete at the United States Rotax Grand Nationals and make his run at a ticket to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, Myers was the man to beat on that weekend taking the Rotax Senior victory.

AJ Myers will continue to his assault on the Florida karting community as he plans to compete in the remainder of the Florida Karting Championship Series, North Florida Rotax Max Challenge as well as Rok Cup USA. Myers also plans to take his talents to the United States Rotax Grand Nationals and the Rotax Pan American Championships later this season.
