Event News: Money Races Added to Plaza Grand Prix Street Race in Jacksonville, Illinois
The Jacksonville Plaza Grand Prix, presented by Good Times Docs, has recently announced the addition of several money classes in addition to the Mid America Track Challenge (MATC) classes that will be racing. There will be three 25-lap cash payback races for the TAG, Yamaha Supercan and Clone Senior classes. The Sunday May 19th event will be held in downtown Jacksonville Illinois in conjunction with the Jacksonville’s May 18th Downtown Celebration, a festive day of music, food and fun in the heart of Jacksonville’s downtown. Food vendors and a beer garden will also be setup on Sunday for the kart races.
The race course is approximately one half mile in length. Michael Davis insurance of WKA has been secured for the event. Mid-State Kart Club (MSKC) will be providing the safety barriers for the course. Volunteers from the local FFA, Police Cadets and the Jacksonville High School football team are helping setup and staff the event along with MSKC and Quincy TNT kart racing members.
In addition to the title sponsorship from Good Time Docs, more local sponsors have stepped up to support the event. The sponsor’s funds will help provide the safety fencing and barriers, scoring trailer and class awards.
