Series News: Miller Motorsports Park, Msquared Racing Joining Forces In 2013
Msquared Racing Rotax Challenge to serve as official regional Rotax Max Challenge Series
MillerMotorsportsPark and Msquared Racing have reached an agreement to join forces in 2013 to improve the quality and visibility of Utah’s regional Rotax Max Challenge kart racing series.
The series will be called The Msquared Racing Rotax Challenge at MillerMotorsportsPark and will serve as the official regional qualifying series for the Rotax Grand Nationals to be held at the new Mooresville Motorplex circuit in North Carolina, July 31 – August 3, 2013.
“We are extremely excited about this new partnership with MillerMotorsportsPark,” said Msquared’s Scott Clark. “MillerMotorsportsPark is one of the premier karting facilities in the country, and we want this series to reflect that. The goal is to grow all of our Rotax Max classes and give our racers even more bang for their buck. Ultimately, we are determined to host another major national Rotax Max event in 2014, and this partnership is the first step in accomplishing that goal.”
As part of the revamped program, all racers competing at MMP in a Rotax class must be a member of the United States Rotax Max Challenge. Members will receive “punches” for each series event; a minimum number of punches is required to enter the Rotax Grand Nationals and the Pan American Challenge. Members are also entered into the Rotax National Points System which is accumulated over the course of the year. The top six finishing results are matched against other drivers in the same class to see who is the local/regional/national points champion.
To offset the cost of registration, MMP and Msquared will credit the racers’ motorsportsreg.com account for the amount of the membership once confirmation of registration is received. This credit must be applied toward the entry fee of one of the series events.
“This new partnership will be a really great thing for the racers.” Said Justin Bloxham, Track Operations Manager for MillerMotorsportsPark. “Our focus is to continue making improvements each season that will provide increased value to those choosing to race here. Also, we want to properly represent the strength of our local Rotax program to the rest of the kart racing community. Everyone at Msquared Racing has been nothing but helpful to us, and this partnership was an easy and natural step to take. We know that 2013 will be a great season.”
