|
|
My WF engine is not running right. It has a Walbro PZ26 carburetor. When I took it apart I lost the needle retaining clip. UGH
I want go to the track tomorrow. The track surface is real smooth.
If I can get at least one-half hour on the kart, I will be satisfied. However if there is a good likelihood that the clip will fall off before the one-hour is up I would rather not go. (Long drive and have to find a neighbor to help me move the kart from stand to trailer)
So the QUESTION: What is the probably that the clip will come off in less than one-half hour. _________________ Race Grandpa

I might have figured it out.
Here is the link to the manual
http://wem.walbro.com/distributors/servicemanuals/HIGHPERFORMANCEPZCAEBURETOR.pdf
According to the Walbro manual the jet needle has 5 grooves where the C-clip can be placed. However, I believe all I have in my carburetor are jets.
On page 5 it shows the guts of the carburetor. What I can see in my carburetor shown in the photo on the bottom right-side of the page. Nothing in the photo is labeled a jet needle. I would have thought the jet needle would be shown sticking out of the main jet.
So it looks that I need to get a jet needle and C-clip.
Looks like the kart is going to be in the garage until I get the replacement parts.
I have absolutely no mechanical skills. All of the things I have run into with the kart have been overwhelming.
Even though this book probably will not cover the WF engine it should help me understand the basics.

Keeping my fingers crossed.
Please pray for me. _________________ Race Grandpa

Find yourself a race buddy who knows some of this stuff and who will come to the track to help (possibly in return for rides ?) and over time , teach you the essentials.
Not wishing to offend you but...you cannot learn the technical skills overnight and some of the possible mistakes you may make can not only cost you plenty....they can also be dangerous !! ( loose wheel, poor brake settings, etc etc) _________________ Chad
