It was announced today that Kelly Bires and JR Motorsports have parted ways in the NASCAR Nationwide series. JR Motorsports also announced that Jamie McMurray will drive the car for 9 races this season.

Somewhat ironic that McMurray drives for Jr.'s step-mother (and Gannasi) and that he will be driving for Dale Jr. I'm a little surprised that he was given permission.

I wonder if it has anything to do with capitaliuzing on Jamie winning the Daytona 500 and earnhardt's name gathering more spobsorship to spread around.

Word is that Hellman's wanted to make the change. The car was unfunded except for when Jr was driving it. This agreement funds the car with Hellman's and Suave. Bummer because I liked the kid. Hopefully he'll land somewhere.

Funny how the guys with the money (sponsors) call the shots.
