Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum.
I have a ICA rotax(reed valve- air cooled) and at my local track almost everybody is changing to shifters 125 , and I don't want to change to shifters now, because nobody would buy my kart ( ica is not very popular now at my local track )So I was thinking just to change the engine to keep up with the shifters during practice, I can keep up with the slower ones now, but do you think this ROTAX MAX engine will be closer to the shifters??????I haven't seen a ROTAX MAX here , so I don't know how they perform

The Rotax Max engine wil not keep up with the shifters. You will also have to add front brakes? Sell your stuff at an extremely attractive price and start over if you can afford to.

I bet a well driven Sudam would give them a scare ! and cheaper than a Max..
OR , why not buy up some of those unwanted ICA motors and put together a twin engined practice monster !! That would get the job done....

There is now way that a good max driver would ever be able to keep up the a good shifter drive. If i was you id try to sell the kart and get a shifter! Also shifters are way funner!

Your better off just pulling a 125 off a dirt bike or scooter. There is a company that makes a mount for 125 shifters that has the shift lever as part of the mount ( the lever is by your right thigh) for dirt racers If I find the website again I'll pass it on

Thank you all for your comments , I guess I'll keep my ICA kart this year, and try to get a good deal on a shifter 125 for next year, I am still having fun with the ICA it is not that far behind shifters anyway.

A friend of mine runs his Rotax Max at our local track. He is the only one that shows up with a Max so they put him in the 125cc shifter class. He eats up most of them and that is with a standing start!! They won't let him have a rolling start. One race he finished 3rd.
