Jimmy, why would you want to get your gas/nitro mix to pass?why not just run race gas like everyone else?that way you are getting CONSISTENT gas, those fellows who mix the gas for the stations are called CHEMISTS,they know how to do it ahd what will work and what won't,save yourself some time and maybe even your health and buy gas that is already made, and besides,Iwould much rather win doing it legal than to know that Idid it cheating and got one by the tech man

Before you assume that the people at your track don't care, you should let them know that you are mixing 10% methanol with gas. The idea is to win within the rules.

I guess I don't really need to get past the digitron because nobody at my track really cares as long as we all have fun with some good close racing. I was just curious because I heard that some guys found a way to make hot fuel pass. Why would a gas/nitro mix be inconsistant? I've been mixing 10% methanol with gas and it's consistantly fast. You don't have to be a chemist to mix gas and nitro all you do is add an equal amount of methanol to make the nitro mix. It can't be that bad for your health, if it were everyone in NHRA top fuel would be sick.

Everybody does know. The light weight guys didn't want to add a ton of lead to there karts for safty reasons so, they let the heavier guys slide on the tech inspection. What rules? it's a run what ya' brung tack. We've got rotory engines, reed engines piston ports all in the same class (being beat by light weight yamahas with good chaissi set ups). Heck there's one guy that's trying to run straight alky with a wB3a but he can't get it to pull off the bottom. It's always interesting to see someone come out with some old controlled motor, modified Mac or Yam and see what it does. I like to explore applied science, which is why I asked about the nature of the digitron tester. I thought, since the karting elite post here, that someone might know something about open fuel and fuel testing.
