Last year, I bought two of these from Sears:

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00962022000P?vName=Tools&cName=Tool+Storage&sName=Middle+Chests

I generally leave them in my van and after riding around for 10,000 miles, they are both hopelessly broken. The drawers slide on ball-bearing rails and the rails are junk. Anyway, don't waste your money.

Ditto that... Again, no roller bearings, just slides.

My 7-drawer top box has been riding around, bolted to the workbench in my kart trailer, for 8 or 9 yrs with no trouble. And yes it's a slider, I couldn't afford the roller slides, just my good luck being broke. Sad

I'm definitely going to try. Something makes me think that the craftsman warranty only applies to hand tools.

might be. i bought a craftsman timing light and about a year later it quit working. they said they don't warranty the lights for a lifetime but after some complaining they went ahead and did it.

But a cantilever tool box from Snap On. Leave the drawer boxes for the garage. This box will hold as much as your borken drawer box and is easy to carry. Snap On part number UT22. Cost is $122. plus tax, no freight. Dennis

I had the same problem with my Craftsman box. Its a slide, not bearing. It spent 16 hours in the enclosed, when I got to the track the bottom two drawers had collapsed. Made for an annoying weekend of racing.

Whent and bought a big kobalt box and have had 0 problems.

Same place everything else that wears the Craftsman badge.

The lowest bidder.

I had a lawmower from them that after 18 years finally died. I beat and beat on it treated it terribly and it lasted 18 years. Replaced it with another and well I now get to buy 2 sets of drive wheels a season due to the junk design of them. I have treated this one like a vintage car and I keep having issues with it.

Really? I always figured that would be just as bad as crapsman.

The Craftsman I had was the cheap model, the Kobalt I have is the top of the line. Maybe thats the difference.

I love my new Kobalt box.

About 10 years ago I bought a roller slide Craftsman box. It rode around in my work van for 6 years. I never had an issue with it. I still have the box in my garage and still use it.

I haven't bought anything from Sears for several years, I wonder if their buying of/being bought by Kmart has changed who makes their tools? i.e. the quality of them has went down hill as well.
