I was waiting to see the responses but I'm surprised again. Anyway Steve , I'm a new convert to 4 cycle sprint karts , coming from speedway karting here in the Phoenix area. The WF population is growing here and hopefully more racers will see the advantages to the class as many have expressed interest in the WF when they see me out on practice days.
I am planning on racing with the So-Cal Sprinters at Adams next year but I'm only assuming they are going to run WF next year as I've only seen their race dates for 2010 , not their class structure. I was somewhat disappointed to see IKF drop the WF from their Region 7 classes but I also understand that if there is no participation they can't support the class. I'm always interested in supporting WF racing and looking forward to it's growth. _________________ I breathe ,therefore,I race |

Steve, I have two in the trailer sitting in my garage. Had to take the year off but will be back for 2010.
Bernie, The So cal Sprinters will be running 3 world formula classes in 2010:
1) JR WF @ 325 lbs
2) SR WF @ 365 lbs
3) SR WF heavy @ 390 lbs
All the WF classes will be run with VP MS98 gas

John,
I miss racing with you. As you know I took a break from So-Cal after 10 years. I spent the year helping Dave at Apex.I know that LAKC and TRI C ran the class last year. I think there is another group that runs them at Cal Speed with Gerry Flores. Has it been deluted? I was shocked at the lack of WF entries at the R-7 race we held. I see that R-7 will not offer WF in 2010.I'm considering a 4 cycle program at Perris next year. What other clubs are offering World Formula in Souther Cal? Is it back to just So-Cal Sprinters? I don't want to start a program if the class is already too watered down. What have you heard?

Steve,
Tri-C, LAKC, and EP1K( the club at calspeed) all already have the class. There aren't enough people running for this many clubs already so I really don't recommend adding it there. _________________ ART Grand Prix America Team Manager

Kyle,
Do you know what LAKC and TRI -C are doing with WF in 2010? The last time I looked at the entries in 09, it appeared that the majority of the Karters we the old So-Cal guys scattered around the 4 clubs. |

Both clubs are keeping the class for 2010. There were a few new entries running LAKC last season in WF, but they have both left the class. _________________ ART Grand Prix America Team Manager

Hi Kyle, do you have any info on the TRI-C tracks schedule, I checked their website but didn't see anything. I wouldn't mind taking my WF and running with my original kart club again, especially if they are going to run at few different tracks.
TIA

Hi Steve,I like you had to take some time off to regroup, mentally and financially. The WF class was gaining some momentum for awhile, some of the JR's went into HPV and tag classes. I believe the economy really affected a lot of people, The lack of support/interest from a lot of the karts shops makes it a little harder for people to find their way into the classes. ( Please all kart shops do not take that statement as a criticism, more just a statement of fact in regards to the WF program, all so cal shops have some specialties/ packages and serve their customers very well.)
Terry Nash at Nash's karts is the main shop supporting the WF, he has the complete machine shop/staff to handle the WF and all 2 cycles, so he has struck a balance that works well for him. I have been out of the loop , not sure if Eric nelson at 7thgear is still handling the WF package |

| For us, in 2008, the politics in 4 cycle at So-Cal were too much, and we sold ALL of our 4 cycle stuff, bought 2 cycle programs, and went to LAKC. |
