To me this weekend examplifies how this organization has grown. It seems that half of the racers arent even comming preparded to race. If the forcast was for rain the why would all you people bring rains. I guess i cant bash skusa to hard here cause i wasnt there but it sounds still like these races are run like club races which is not what the sport needs to grown into a pro sport.

There would certainely be no reason to bash SKUSA at all. What does the fact that a lot of people don't want to trash $300 worth of rains (2 sets) have to do with it being run like a local race. I don't know if Preston Peebles, AJ Whistler, or many of the other VERY pro teams that were there would appreciate the implication that it was not a professional race.

We are always talking about cost savings. With relatively small fields, a big wide track, and a long race, people just felt the heat would not be worth $150 (one set).

I don't really know why I bother replying to an attempt to spin my complement into a gripe. My point was that everybody THERE felt that SKUSA repeatedly did the RIGHT thing.

I think the long track nationals would draw the hard core LT guys if there was a temporary SKUSA license sold to the drivers. I hear the regular LT guys complaining more about costs then any sprinters I've ever known. (Not all) They are always reluctant to have to buy the license for what would be their only SKUSA race. THe 5" wheels deal that Erik mentioned, the PI. Some of these issues have been stated before.

For those who do not RR much RRacing is always more laid back. Much less stress at any LT event compared to Sprint. What cracks me up is that the average weekend at a SWRA race costs much more than a local or Regional Sprint race to enter. RR is much less physical and that is what I attribute its large number or entries in SWRA for shifters.

I think that the main reason that the race had low attendance was that the regular SKUSA Pro moto racers had talked and the word was that nobody was going. That is why we didn't even plan on it. Texas has road racing roots, the likes of Collin Lyne, Adam Thompson, Gary Glanger, Trevor McAlister, Kyle Martin, John Kindhart have all come from road racing.

It is unfortunate that teams are beginning to get serious about "voting with their wallets". Pro teams talk and we know who is going to be where for the most part.

Why go where nobody is going. Not trying to take anything from those who went; we all want to race in the end. Politics are unfortunately beginning to play a part.
