Here it is the week before the Quad Regional meet no one has said much about attending.

Who is going?

There is a large contigent coming from Colorado. K1 should be interesting with the number one guy coming in, Blake. Jake Pierson, who may well be the second fastest K1 in the country, is going to come and so am I. At least 3 other K1 are coming. At least 4 60cc are coming including Adrian Carrio and Greg Welch. Adrian has won 2 Duffys this year, a Screaming Eagle(4 stroke) and the USSN. Greg is the defending 2000 SuperNationals winner. So both of these kids are fast.

There should be a large group of G1 guys coming. A couple of SuperPro guys are coming. I think it could be a good size turnout.

Jeff,
thanks for responding. I would like to see a good turnout as Mr. Lamkin deserves one. Growing a new track is very difficult. if it weren't for the fine efforts of fine people like Mr. Lamkin, we would be racing go-carts at Putt-Putt.

Considering that many will end up missing a 1-2 days of school (unless they fly in) due to distances, we were concerned about a sparse turnout. Also, the total cost is little high. We spend about $1400 a weekend when both of us run (usually behind mid-pack) but we expect this event to be closer to $2000. As many folks are out of the regional points for a podium finish (we certainly are) they tend to fall away as the season progresses.

I am wildly guessing the following to show up from Red River (anyone chime in here...)

S1 - Collin Lynn, Preston Peebles, Micheal Johnson

S2 - Chris Story

G1 - Chad Miller, myself

K1 - Dallas Patterson, Blake Clements, Jeff Carter, Micheal Brooks

80Jr - Phillip Johnson, Tyson Knight, Chris Jackson, Charles Crews III, Derek Denman

60cc - Reid Miller, Jordan Mury

Courtney Weeks S1 will be there from Mountain. Havent had a chance to talk to the other S1's but I would guess they are attending.

Here are the directions to the track. The track is on the south-west side of town. Take I-40 west to exit 149. Cross over to the south side of the freeway and take the frontage road west for 4 miles to Shelly Road. Turn left on Shelly and go south to the first stop sign, turn right and into the track. There are signs along the way. See ya there.

Directions to the track can be found at http://www.skusaonline.com/regions/canyon/index.htm

Be VERY CAREFUL at the funky four way stop.

Man, I can't go. School starts tomorrow. But you do get one drop and luckily it's not a double points race for us.
It would help to go but you can't race all the time.

O well,

Our school starts tomorrow and we are flying both ways so that I only end up missing one day of school. See you guys there.

Yeah, school starts Thursday for my brother and I. We're leaving as soon as school gets out on Friday and driving down there, hopefully arriving by 11:00 One ten minute practice on Saturday to figure out which way the track goes, and we get to qualify...maybe by the Sunday mains we'll have the kart good enough to be competitive
