I just read the message regarding the mikuni rm28 which i have just installed and wonder what the prefered plumbing set up is,,,,magic can...fuel tee...i currently have a tee in the fuel line with one line to return and the other to the carb..........suggestions

David,

The key question is not what is preferred, it is, does your motor run well on the track? I use the "t" line on my 80 and have had a few problems but nothing major. I was told, that if run run the through part of the "t" to the carb and the down branch back to the tank you're fine. So, if your motor runs well, I would't mess with it too much for now.

Right now the real trick set-up for the 80 is the pump around system that uses two fuel pumps, and no floats in the carbs.

I'll confirm Tim's response about the "double pump" system, it works flawlessly on my 80. Previously I ran a Keihin PWK28 with the double T setup but no amount of float level adjustment would get rid of the bogging (fuel starvation) in long, high G corners. Now I've got a modified Mikuni RM80 (the correct one with the pull up black choke knob) with the scavenge (or pump around) pump and no more problems.
