After cracking 5 ribs on my gas tank then healing for 6 weeks.
I would like to know who runs ribb protectors and whats the best.
I don't want to constrict my movement and I would like to use it on a laydown or a Spitup Laughing Razz
I have seen some guys waring whats looks like turtle back ( over lapping
knuckels along the spine) I think it was Mike Hickey (125 Pro sprint BA )who wore that.
Now that I can sneeze with out dropping to my knees in pain, I would like to keep it that way.

I use "Body Armor" (about $200.00) and have never been sore.

I use the ribtect from Robby Mott. I first used it after hurting my ribs in Canada then coming to Charlotte. Robby handed me one and said use it for the weekend. If you like it you buy it, if not give it back. I eneded up buying them and and now we sell them. I feel it is the best on the market. I have used about 10 different ones over the years. I use it in a New Concept Design laydown situp seat. But have never tried it in a full laydown.

my kids use Bohn BodyArmor. It seems to provide protection for everything, except the ribs, as it's designed for bikes not karts. It does have an elastic enclosure around the bottom, but no padding, etc.; more like a kidney belt. Being Jrs. at the time, I wasn't as worried about their ribs as I was the impact to the chest in an accident. They have used it religiously for 3 years and won't hit the track without it. It saved my daughter from serious injury when the sprocket of another kart driving over the top of her hit one of the protective plastic pieces in her shoulder area . Once my oldest son went to shifters, he did change to a rib vest for protection. We have tried a few, but want to try the Ribvest this year.
