| I run a Rotax, used the Burris oil only once which was last weekend at Portland. Will not run it again. It says right on the container that the oil can seperate from the fuel under certain temperatures. Also , my racing partner seized his Rotax at Portland. The local engine builder thought the probable cause was oil/fuel seperation! Thats all I needed to hear. Aslo look on the TAG forum, I saw today there was a thread on Burris oil. It also stated the same. Good Luck! |

| It sais oil may seperate below 35 F, here in so cal. it never gets that cold, so I wouldn't think I need to worry.I was also told that BURRIS castor leaves more carbon build up, but the same guy also told me that MAXIMA castor is a good oil and both bottles seem to be identical except for the label.Any one know if there is any difference between BURRIS and MAXIMA castors since both molds are identical down to the little molded trademark.Reg 7 IKF makes you run the BURRIS castor so we have zero choice in that series. |

I use Shell Super M in my Leopard. It runs clean, and I have very little carbon buildup. I think from previous feedback that the Xceramic is also very good. _________________ www.hotkartclub.com |

Can't comment on the Leopard. But there are multiple variables that can affect oil mixing (or lack there of). I always run castor - I prefer Burris, but I've been running TECH because I've know the owner for 20 years and he sells it to me for a really good price.
I ran at Portland last weekend and didn't have any seperation problems - in fact I've never had a seperation problem when running TECH castor and ERC. BUT, I've had seperation problems when I used the same oil at other tracks than had a different spec gas (other than ERC).
Castor doesn't particularly like to mix with gas - most 2 cycle castor oils include some sort of a blending agent to help it mix with racing fuel. Depending on the blending agent, some brands of castor will mix better at low temperatures. Similarly, different brands of racing gas will mix better (or worse) at low temperatures. Union 76 (which I understand is no longer available) was really bad, ERC seems to be really good.

All oils separate over time. Castor will definitely separate and thicken in cold temps. For this reason I always shake the fuel jug vigorously before putting that fuel in the kart tank. I also do this as the last step before heading for the grid. _________________ Patrick Hubbell |

| Thanks to all who answered my query. I'm working with a local shop and that's what they have. I forgot to add that it was Burris Hi-Rev Blend. There is also a Burris Hi-Rev Castor. I may look at Xeramic also. I'd like to settle on something good and be consistent with this engine. Thanks. |

As we have a new race w/e approaching fast. I just purchased a bottle of Burris Castor oil for mixing. I have never used it before.
As it appers that some 2/ oils don't mix well with all fuels, can anyone give me advice on whether or not Burris Castor oil mixes well with Texaco 92 octain pump gas. I run A Rotax and that is the fuel I have used for 2 years without issues. I just don't wish to create a new issue by using a new oil.

Bill, I used Burris Hi-Rev Blend in my HPV. Contact Marc Zartarian - http://www.kartracingtechnologies.com/home/contact.htm and ask him what he thinks, he worked on my engine.

| I use Amzoil synthetic 2 cycle racing oil in everything. I've tried lots of other oils, but Amzoil works best for me! |

Burris blend, Maxima 927 and VP rc3 is to my understanding the same oil packaged with different names.
