Dellorto Causing My Problem?

Guys,

I ran my 2 new (complete, fresh rebuilds with new cylinders, etc. all OEM stuff) CR125s this weekend. The one with the pumparound ran very clean all day after break in. The Dellorto smoked quite a bit at idle and blew out a sticky black residue all over the rear of the kart. It also filled the overflow bottle from the carb. vent tubes after just a couple of laps. It DID run OK but there was a sticky black residue all over the back. By contrast, the one with the pump around had just a couple of tiny black drops on the bumper. Does the excess oil come from running too rich (as in getting fuel pumped up the jet instead of sucked up???? I do not have a "T" in the line. Just the Dellorto going to the carb. I tried adjusting the floats and thought I had cured it. Different story on the track though.

Dellorto carb or dellorto pump? dellorto pump with built in check valve should be ok, mikuni square or round pump (without return line from the pump) will pump too much, put a "T" in it.

I can only suggest trying a return line to see if it cures your problem, run it higher then supply line. In theory the pump should work without it however.
