|I don't think the grit matters much just so long as you get the "mirror" off the floaters and apply a nice crosshatch. It will be back to "polished" soon enough.
The SMC oil is good if you can find it anymore, but I like Redline synthetic ATF, b/c it will not char.
Use the brass weights for your ratio.
Beware new springs. Last year's batch were too long and stiff and gave me fits. The springs should not be difficult to wedge into the housing, nor should it be easy ... they should neatly tuck in. If this describes your current springs, keep using them.
