Doug has terminal throat cancer and has less than a month to live. He was my mechanic as well as Greg Macomber's for many years and was a successful driver too. Doug helped out many people including fellow racers and will be missed at the tracks around the midwest. He has no email and talking is painful. If you wish to write him the address is: 5826 East RS Ave. Scotts, MI 49088.

Doug is one of those guys who would stop what he was working on, just to help you out no matter what. He would literally give you his shirt off his back if that is what you needed at any of the racetracks we went to. His upbeat attitude, smile, and laugh is what made hanging out at the tracks so much fun. When I think about the fun times at the kart tracks we went to I think of Doug. He made the events unforgettable.

Doug's mechanical ability and attention to detail is what makes him so good. He literally worked his ass off when I drove Jerry Leonards kart. He was the fire that kept our team going.

Doug, I am praying for you my friend. Fight like there is no tomorrow. Racing will NEVER be the same without you there.
