On my carb I had a hose connected on the breathers on each sides, and the hose was slit in the middle..

Can someone tell me what is this for? Is it better?

You want to run it up somewhat so fuel does not spill from breathers

With 1 lat G, it's like turning the carb on it's side. Try it with the carb full of fuel and see what happens..... Very Happy
