|
|
I am a 4 1/2 year member at PKRA and was excited that we were going to have a Challenge of The Americas race, a ProKart Challenge Race, and A ProTour race..
Now, SKUSA has just pulled out. Whats the story??? How did PKRA screw this up so bad to lose two major races?? Whatever they did to mess this up for us local racers has me infuriated.
I just got back from Tucson for the Challenge of the Americas Race... The track was awesome!!! So, I understand it was the obvious back up.... and Tucson REALLY wants to host races, apparently PKRA does not. _________________ Stewart Willis |

I would contact SKUSA directly if you want any further information. Typically these threads just lead to the usual pot stirring and hearsay.

The big rumor (fact now that it's on the internet) that I was told today from some reliable pot stirrers was that it was a "color" thing. Tire color.
Someone involved didn't want to do what was best for Joe Karter. He was more interested in making His wallet thicker.
Sorry Ryon. _________________ Doug Fleming

Sorry Ryon. |
It's never about the karter.
It's always about the benefit of the karting industry.
That's what is wrong with this sport, and why it has the fastest turn-over rate of any motorsport.
All decisions appear to only benefit the people that run it.
I'm sure this thread will disappear like all others that are critical of the foundation of karting.
It took me a while to figure out why 98% of everyone leaves after2 or 3 years. |

Mg is a sponsor of Skusa, would make no sense to use a different tire for one race and would prob cause a lot of problems.
BTW I have no idea why they moved the race, but I'm glad they did. Will save a bunch of money not having to go the Phoenix twice, plus we get to race Tucson, one of the baddest tracks in the US. |

Hey guys,
I live in Tucson and I am a member at Musselman Honda Circuit. All I can say is I love the way PKRA is ran, the prices (track days, members, etc) and I love the Facilities at PKRA.
However I believe Tucson is often overlooked. It is a phenominal track, and a great venue. I have yet to meet a single person that deesn't like driving here.
The only downfall for the club guys, is that there is a "lack" in members and participation. We often share track days with rental karts. This will soon be fixed as they are building a SEPERATE rental track, which is a HUGE plus...
All in all, the two tracks are both awesome, however I think this will be a decent change in pace.
I do feel a little upset that it was on such short notice, But I do feel alternating between the Phoenix, and Tucson venues could do a lot for the comunity!
All we are missing down here in Tucson are the number of karters you guys get at PKRA!
Can't wait to see you all down here! |
