Jim,- I've removed dents from a lot of pipes with the heat and pressure - both Alex's and others at the track - it really does work. On some of the more severe dents, I use a hammer with a large flat head to tap around the ridge of the dent after heating it up - it seems to help relieve the metal and allows the depressed area to come out without having to go crazy with the air pressure. - You know me - just too cheap to go buy another pipe - though somehow I ended up with a large pile of them in the garage.
