In this day of imported everything and the concept of customer service being some computer on the end of a phone call, my faith in a good old American company has been renewed.
I had a problem with a brand new LO206 Briggs & Stratton engine and after a simple post on their forum last night, I received an email this morning, 1st thing, directly from their Director of Briggs Racing asking me to call him.
After a great conversation, about karting, etc... he is sending me a brand new replacement engine and only asks for mine in return to determine what they can do better.
My son and I diagnosed it as a failed camshaft...something I have no doubt is an extreme rarity in the Briggs process.
Needless, to say, I'm sold on Briggs as a company that supports our hobby 100%. Hopefully as more racers see that this package is more affordable and better built...much less not having to keep up with the Clone madness of the "rule & new part of the day"...and those who don't quite play by the rules....then this can be the right path for the hobbyist to join karting and stay in karting.
Thinking of ditching all our clone stuff....had enough of the Wild, Wild West... |
