| You need to get an SX barrel for it and run a 38 carb if you must use a dirt bike pipe try a pro circuit pipe it will have way better over rev. you could also try an SX CDI box which will have a more aggressive curve and KTM oem CDI's come with 2 curves built in stock so you can switch on the fly |

I've done a little reading up on that, the XC-W does have provisions to change the ignition map from "Trail" to "Race" and as of now, we have it in the trail mode..
It does look like the SX head will bolt up and make for a little more HP.. and looking into some of the Mini-sprint CR250 pipes as well.. also one of our "UAS Dirt" guys(Tim Taft) is making set's of cases for many different MX applications..
Basically will be more like a kart bottom end without a transmission.. will use a jackshaft and 4 disc dry clutch.. he built the cases so the jug is turned around which faces the exhaust out the rear.. carb in front.. bolt up your favorite flavor of cylinder along with the crank and rod.. and you have something more adaptable in karting configuration.. we'll work on getting ours up to speed this winter, and purchase a set of cases from Tim come Summer time..

Ken, will they let you run twins? Build a set of cases with twin CR125 top ends, exhaust out the back, no gearbox, Kinda like a 256 config, minus the gearbox. Betcha get close to 100 ponies with the right pipes and tuning!!!

I guess you would angle the cylinders in a V since you are getting rid of the transmission.
Or make a rotary like the original.. more expense/complication though.

I like the 2 piece head and cylinder design.... 
If the back of the cases were the tranny is was lopped off, it might work without an issue....

Unfortunately, the rules in the UAS prohibit running twin 125's, and limit duals to 206cc's.. something about keeping it somewhat affordable.. if that was the case.. Rileys BRC 250 GP twins would rule the track.. without a doubt..

So then what you need is a set of cases for twin 100 cylinders..... 
Between sharing the frictional losses, vibration balancing, packaging, and just ease of tuning, one set of cases with twin cylinders should be a better package, than dual 100 motors.
