Guys,
In reassembling the '99 CR125, I ran into an issue with the gearbox. First, when I tightened the case screws, the gearbox was locked up. Then when I loosened the screws, the gearbox freed itself and the cases then slipped together easily. Not sure what was jammed. Anyway, now I noticed that there is several mm of play. Both shafts will slide in and out of the case. I have not tightened the screws again but the cases are flush with one another. Is this normal? Also, the last gear on one of the shafts has a raised area cast into the gear (like a built in thrust washer). I could not figure out if this went towards the other gears or towards the case as the gear slips on in either position. Anyone know how it goes?
