You guys should definitely give it a try and I am certain that you will not regret it. My only regret is that...it took about 4 years for me to finally try it - should have done it earlier. The engine keeps cleaner...give gives you a bit more elbow room...it sounds better...power delivery is better hence easier to drive so that you can just go faster and longer and faster and longer...don't confuse this with a viagra ad haha!

Now...make no mistake about this guys...if you do go for 01 cylinder, the best engine builder for that is MRC (Musgrave Racing Company). They just made their debut at SKUSA SuperNats last week...two drivers only competing there...one went home with the 'S2' title...

I can't help but wonder if everybody that watched the S1 race would disagree. Any thoughts on Fritz's motor Alex?

No thoughts but since you mentioned. I just looked it up and saw that Billy qualified on pole with 44.827 while this guy Fritz qualified in 8th with 45.101. But to be quite honest, I think you are comparing apples with oranges since Billy ran in S2 and the person you mentioned (Fritz) in S1. I am confused with your comment, are you suggesting that Billy is better than Fritz?

I definitely wasn't saying that Billy is better than Fritz. No way to tell since they race at different times. I was saying Fritz had the best stock Honda at the track and it was an 01' built by Swedetech. If you would like to compare lap times though you may be interested to know that Fritz's fastest lap was only about 5 tenths faster. I can definitely see how a half second isn't a big deal. I do understand your loyalty though.

Billy. Fritz
Heat 1 45.429 15 mins 44.934
Warm up 45.178 10 mins 44.596
Heat 2 45.189 45 mins 44.911
Heat 3. 45.235. 15 mins. 44.851
Warm up 44.875. 20 mins. 44.363
Main. 44.957. 75 mins. 44.678

So when you look at the times Billy was faster or slower? I watched all of the S2 AND S1 races and Fritz would pull 8-10 kart lengths on the straight. Didn't see that in S2. Maybe 3 lengths at most. Maybe seeing is believing?

If I was the owner of SwedeTech, I would meet with my attorney(s) to explore way(s) to prevent Mr. Laird from referring to the SwedeTech name on public forums. As an end consumer who is not exclusively limited to SwedeTech – as I have bought engines from Woltjer, DDR, SwedeTech and MRC – I personally find Mr. Laird a significant turnoff to the SwedeTech brand, and believe he makes other end consumers less likely and/or doubtful in purchasing SwedeTech products.

If I'm reading this data correctly its shows that on average the later session times resulted in faster lap times. This of course follows the typical increase in rubber being laid down creating a more preferred traction surface resulting in faster turn speeds for the same radius allowing higher G loads to achieve quicker section times. This in it self makes Billy's qual time even more devastating to the "Pro" drivers with the "Pro" hand picked equipment Wink Shocked

Billy would have WON S1 easily Shocked

Mike G.

BTW my helmet would have looked better on either driver than that crap they were donning.

Well Mike, unfortunately you're not reading the data correctly. Your theory has a few holes in it. If it was correct, the fast times would swap from the end of a session to the beginning of the next. Ex. Billy would have a faster time for his warm up than Fritz did in heat 1. Then billy would be faster in heat 2 than Fritz in his warm up and so on. You don't even need a complicated formula to figure that out. At this point we should probably all just pop open a Sierra Nevada and admire your helmet. That's something we all agree on. Very Happy Very Happy

How disrespectful are you people to drivers that you actually think engines are what win races at this level?
