Those were the days! I believe I was there in 2003 but as a green kart racer and in CIK 125 class. It would be cool to go back with 250's someday.........Bobby.....you have me thinking....although I doubt I can be considered one of the "sharp 250's I'm not sure I can gather up my sheet enough to commit......maybe I'll make the call to my 125 buds for 2013....."Gumball"!
I also remember (I wasn't there) Jim Russell Jr. running Wally Wallen's laydown BRC/PVP 250 creation in 2008 I think running low 1:50's lap times with his first race weekend in the kart and plagued with difficulties.
I'm not sure but it seems like Jim felt that if things were right that weekend he could have gotten below 1:50 lap times. With an average lap speed of almost 114 mph the top speed must have been scary fast what with the kart trying to lift off of the ground and all.
With all of this talk, the one thing that stands out in my mind is..... I sure miss Wally. |
