So after an amazing level of response to my direct email poll, we will NOT be inverting the entire Cadet field for the second heat race at the Homestead FWT Formula Kart Racing rounds.

We are still evaluating inverting the top "X", but as I wrote earlier unless it's unanimous we won't change anything at Homestead.

I'm still leaving this subject open for Ocala in March! Smile

Online registration for the Homestead FWT Formula Kart Racing and Rotax Max Challenge events closes this Friday Feb 8.

Bill

How about having the "X" invert being drawn from a hat, like they do at alot of the short tracks around the country? With the Heat 1 winner picking the invert.

Maybe have twenty balls. You can do it in a way that the winner could pick a zero or one that they would stay on the pole.

Ball/Pills could be like below.
1, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 7, 8, 8, 9, 9

I would do odd and even numbers so people race for everything and now set up for an inside starting spot.

Gary

Thank you all for your suggestions. However.......

Just to clarify......

The only option we are discussing is to invert the top "X" in Cadet. If the X is ten spots then the fastest kart in Cadet qualifying would start the second heat race from 10th, and the tenth fastest qualifier in Cadet would start the second heat race from the pole.

Just so there is no confusion about what FWT is considering....... Very Happy

The Formula Kart weekend has an incredible competition and became more exciting with the inverted start in the heat races. Let's go and race against the best !!

So just as an update.....

It appears the format change is a success. Positive comments from everyone I've talked to at the events.

Participation through the first two 2013 FWT Formula Kart Racing event weekends featured 136 unique drivers accounting for an average of 179 race entries per event weekend. That's a 14% increase over the 2012 numbers.

THANK YOU to all who helped me make these tough decisions, and to those of you who are racing with me.

Championships on the line next week in Ocala.........tune in at FWT LIVE! www.floridawintertour.com . Very Happy

Will there be a change for the top X in Cadet at Ocala?
