| So i have a 125 fr max that has been running perfect and yesterday at the track for a practice day it died on me and wouldnt start back up for the life of me. battery is charged its getting spark and fuel even put in a new plug. Im not sure how to explain the sound but the typical sound of the motor turning when it starting isnt sounding the same since it died. im getting compression and the starter turnes the clutch and the drum spins but nothing like its trying to fire up. It almost sounds like its not getting compression inside but when i pull the plug it blows out and i can feel compression if i plug it with my finger. Please help me with any other suggestions or advice. |

Jason,
Get someone who knowns the engine to take a look, it could be many things but someone who is familiar with the engine will pin point your problem _________________ Dellorto, Mikuni and Keihin Jetting & Kart Set-up Software

Jason, did you do any throttle cable adjustment before you started having the starting issue? I have just started racing a Rotax and I needed to change my throttle cable. When I put the new one on I pulled it so there was really no slack. It wasn't allowing the slide to close and therefore would not start. We finally figured this out after exhausting all other options. Maybe it will save you a step or two.
Good luck |

Why would the clutch spin when trying to start?
Old style clutch? broken spring?
Throttle not closed is a possibility. and it will sound different turning over. _________________ Arrow AX-8/ Rotax Sr. |
