Mike had a work accident on Saturday and was injured pretty badly. This is a quote from his wife:

I thank god today for my husband. Yesterday morning he fell 30+ feet off a roof onto concrete. Shattering his wrist, ankle and heel bones into a hundred pieces. He truly is blessed to be alive. To see him in this much pain is hard 4 me to bare. He will not be walking for at least 6 months. Ty to everyone for the well wishes. please keep him in your prayers.

For those that do not know Mike he is one of the most well liked people in the paddock area. He is a friend to everyone, and is willing to help out no matter what. He has been a huge ambassador to shifter racing in the North East and started the NESHIFTER series that has grown tremendously. I visited Mike yesterday at the hospital and he is in extreme pain. He will have a long recovery and could use thoughts and prayers from all.

We're thinking about you buddy, get well soon. I was talking to some other drivers up here and we'd like to help with a fund raiser at the next event if possible. I know Mike is self employed, and medical bills can be big.

Hey guys, You obviously know I'm not the one typing, but I wanted to keep you guys up to date. First off I want to thank everyone for your love and support. It means the world to me. I would imagine most of you heard I have had the worst 4 days of my life. I haven't had the chance to measure yet but I fell off a 2- story roof. I landed pretty good but unfortunately not like a cat. The short story goes I shattered my clutch wrist and exploded my braking heel . Hope someone laughed at that cause thats about all the humor I have right now. Surgery #1 for the wrist went well. We will know more about the wrist and the heel when we go back. As of right now I have to much swelling for them to do surgery on my heel. I will be laid up for awhile and will continue to keep you posted. I do appreciate what you guys are trying to do for me but please take that money and get a new guy out on the track. Yes the bills will be hard but you all know me I love to work. I'll get er' done. I will be at Jersey to watch one of the best races of the year. Anyone out there need a tuner in a wheelchair??? I dont come cheap. about a $100,000 will do. Love you guys and thank you soo much.

I heard about this post this morning, what a blow to the gut. So the good news is that you can still shift and hit the gas pedal!

Sounds like you will be at the next race.

If there is a fundraiser, keep me posted. I'm not normally lost for words.....

Mike, I wish you the best recovery possible and if you are serious about attending the NJMP race later this month (despite your injuries) you surely deserve an award for that!!

Having broken both legs in two different bike crashes at Loudon, I kinda know what your going through, it's tough, but it will get better.... I had a total of 5 operations, recovery from each one sucked, but each time they got better...

If you're anywhere near Laconia, Lakes Region Orthopedic has one of the best surgeons in the country, I wouldn't have recovered as well as I did, if it weren't for them....

Good luck, get better soon....
