If I recall correctly...you dont think Cadets should be racing there. So I assume you hope they are just spectating.

Here is his post last year about the cadets. Does any cadet drivers buy parts from him? They shouldn't in my opinion. There were alot of offensive posts about cadets last year. Probably why numbers are down. Last year sold out instantly. Good job Guys.

If the race was meant to be a draw for 3rd graders, it would be at Disneyland. It is in Las Vegas.
Keep the cadets at home running WKA and IKF and let the adults have an event to get down to bus ... |

I am just helping and watching this year. My son was too young to race it last year. He is not ready for it this year.. Nor am I at this point for several reasons.
In Curtis' defense, there is are a group of people that like Supernats to be an all-adult event. Chuck, I have to tell you that Curtis is a great guy that is VERY wrong about two things: 1.) "Supernats should be for adults" and 2.) "Rotax is a viable club program" Other than that, I almost always agree with him... Trust me, he knows his stuff.....On those two things he is wrong.
Having said that, I think the event is amazing. It will also sell out.. from what I have heard, there are only a few entries left for TaG Cadet. This is because of the places that were held from the ProTour racers (like my son) who will not race this event.... He will race next year for sure unless I am totally broke. But, karting is not JUST for him. It is also for me. I love being at the races helping friends.. Last year I had the time of my life watching my driver (who I was helping) have a good chance of winning the event... I made some great new friends from The United Kingdom who I partied with all night long.
I highly suggest every karter go and attend this event whether you are racing or not. It is a truly great spectacle to be a part of. I think that SKUSA, which at one time did not have any special love for the younger drivers (or their often unruly crew), has embraced them and realizes that they are the future of the sport and the SKUSA brand.. This is why my kid will run some local club races and all of the SKUSA ProKart Challenge and ProTour events next year. _________________ Stewart Willis |

| Every year around this time when Im racing or not time seems to go slower until the week before the Snats. As for kicking Curtis I love doing that but not on this point. In my opinion Snats should be for people 14 years old and above. Makes the days way to long when your racing. I remember racing at Sam Boyd when there were no kid classes. Lots of track time and still time to enjoy the event. |

I wouldn't rule out G1 for 2013 or 2014 if the momentum keeps up. Bernard, you guys need to keep rocking with your program. I know the SKUSA Midwest PKC is going to work hard to provide a place for KZs to run next year. If there was enough interest, I expect Tom would be excited to bring it back.
That said, you can expect a full field of 80 S4 Master Stock Motos this year. _________________ Rob Howden

G1 was only 10 entries from cap last year so there was other motivation for dropping it. I would guess time. I still think that over time the international interest will begin to fall. I hope the pro KZ class remains big, thats what I go to see.
If SKUSA wants to get its program going in the midwest it needs to go to better tracks. TNT and RA aren't going to do it. Plus in the Midwest most shifters end up in the CES series which gets 30+. _________________ http://bridgemanbroskarting.blogspot.com/

Keith,
The primary reason for dropping G1, as has been discussed time and time again, was the simple fact that G1 was all but dead in the SKUSA community. SKUSA wanted to focus on its core classes, and I think this year is proof that it was a good call. I expect that all four TaG classes will sell out, as will S2 (40 karts), S4 (80 karts), and KZ (40 karts).
Also, if TNT and RA aren't the tracks that will draw you back, which ones are? _________________ Rob Howden

That was the bonus of the Supernats, it wasn't all core classes. I get why they did it, its just less variation thats all.
Well the midwest doesn't have a lot of great tracks or new ones for that matter. Norway comes to mind. Temp tracks like the ones used in the Great Lakes region would be good. _________________ http://bridgemanbroskarting.blogspot.com/

Not to knock norway; but that is all you could come up with?
MRP, New Castle, USAIR, Badger
Add Norway, RA and TNT to the mix and I think there are enough tracks capable of hosting a regional skusa race. |

New Castle was already on the schedule but yes US Air would be a good choice. Badger is good also
I say do like Lancaster and add Rock Island to the SKUSA midwest points. _________________ http://bridgemanbroskarting.blogspot.com/

Rob, what would be the steps needed to see G1 back in the Supernats. I guess I don't see what indicators would work? I was looking to run G1 at the Nats next year. More options to run KZ in the midwest then stock moto so its hard to make the switch back. _________________ http://bridgemanbroskarting.blogspot.com/
