No offense intended, I'm sure you are quite good with all the stuff you work on. The cast iron flywheel thing has been covered very well on both forums, if there wasn't any issue the kits still would come with stock flywheels.
I build race engines and run them on my dyno as hard as they'll ever be run. I learned from a guy who built the first billet flywheels for the flathead, and I've seen the test chambers at Briggs where they spin stuff up high enough to break. Centrifugal force is definitely something to be respected.
If I had to run a cast iron flywheel I would definitely choose the OEM Honda and get new takeoff's from a known source if possible. You might try contacting Russell at NR Racing (nrracing@comcast.com) he deals with a lot of OEM as well as clone stuff.

Finally got time to work on the Honda/Clone cross over parts for the indoor karts.
The 5.5 Honda flywheel does fit perfectly and to the naked eye the cams are the same as well.
The last BSP clone I ordered came with a cam but no flywheel. From what I've been told by a reliable kart shop/builder WKA will be seriously looking at changing the rule on this very soon.
That can only be good news for the true newbie whom just wants a cheap toy to enjoy with friends. Selfishly, it also helps us indoor and consession karting centers fight the high cost of operations.
I have gotten a great deal of help from Greg at Engine Solutions in Illinois. Very talented fella, a multi generation machinest with no direction after the economy collapsed. He got into the concession business by developing American made replacement parts for Hondas AND Clones and works directly with the manufactures in China and Japan. Everything I have purchased has been "as advertised" with perfect fit and much better durability.
I was hoping to get one on a laydown for next year but not sure that is in the cards now. If the Nephews show any kind of enthusiasm maybe we'll go ahead and do it. Time will tell.
