| mike i believe that the last open test night for sugarhill was last weds. they still however will rent the track individually i believe for like 50 and hour. a couple of the guys up here are thinking about doing that in a few weeks. I have been there in the rotax and it is small and rather dangerous but I guess my opinion is i would rather hit one of those walls at 50 then one at nhis at 90. The problem with that gary is i think i dont qualify as a kid anymore. im 19. Here is a pretty basic question, i am under the impression that i have to run the bridgestone tires but that they have to be purchased at the track and marked. if i have a set that are brand new still stickers on them can i bring them and get them marked? |

Steve,
If you are refering to the Rotax Challenge race at Lime Rock, you have to buy the tires there. From what I understand, you will be required to leave your tires and gas tank in the Park Ferme (sp?) when you are not on the track. |

Steve:
As of April 2001, we or our sub-dealers have sold 23 Rotax Max engine packages, all but three to racers in the New England region. We're encouraged by this, considering that there are presently no suitable sprint tracks in New England for the Max to race on. Sugar Hill was talked about @ one point, but I'm afraid it's just a little too tight.
The event @ Lime Rock Park is being run by Keller's Motor Sports (631) 665-0886, e-mail www.racekartrentals.com. Keller's is the Max Center for NY, NJ and CT. George's summary of what you'll need is correct. I believe you can obtain your license @ the event. Best to call to confirm this.
The Rotax Max turnout @ the last two NHIS events was very good, especially considering that this is the first year for the class. We had 16 entries for the WKA National race and 13 @ the last club race. As Michael Taksa said, the next event @ NHIS is on a smaller circuit above the main track, called "Frontierland" (out in the middle of nowhere!). I had a chance to drive a Rotax on it during the weekend of the last event. It should be fun, with a couple of good passing spots. I've been told that there will be a few changes from when we drove it, to make sure it's as safe as possible. There are no walls along this circuit.
As the Rotax program continues to grow,I'm confident there will be more opportunities to race them in the region. For now, take a look @ NHIS. Come to the next event to check it out, even if you don't race, and talk to the other Max racers. For competitive Max sprint racing, head down to Oakland Valley. It's a long ride, but they've got a very competitive Max class. If you need set-up info , etc. for OVRP, I'm sure George G. will be glad to share it with you.
If you need any information regarding the Rotax Max package, components, races, tuning or set-up tips, please feel free to contact us. email:rhargens@prospeedkartsports.com, Ph: (508)399-5377. Website: www.prospeedkartsports.com |

you must be the roger that glenn speaks of. I got my kart from glenn, I know for a fact that if I do not race I am going to at least go check out the challenge race at lime rock. Im not so sure that i want to get into racing long track in my kart, I kinda just want to do sprint. I guess my really big question is about what layout they are going to run the kart track at lime rock and what kind of gearing Im looking at. I do plan on going to OVRP to try and do a race there before the winter is over. Thanks
