My son turns 13 in April 2013. He is running is Mini Max on a Birel c28 Cadet.
I know taking the restrictors out is about it for motor mods but what about chassis.
He is a wisp of 60 pounds right now and fits well into his kart FINALLY
looking ahead what sort of chassis should we look for? _________________ Arrow AX-8/ Rotax Sr. |

I understand the worry! My son Becker is just 70 lbs.
We are having good luck with the Birel Ry30-S4. I don't think you'll have too much trouble once you get the lead mounted and the driver adjusted to the speed.

I am going to work with our race director and the other Mini max owners to keep my son in Mini for as long as possible.
We are not looking to be the next F1 champ. We are just out to have fun and race his friends. We are not running away form the field in fact we are still working on finding our 1st local win.
If we move to Junior then it leaves just 2 kids in Mini max. Juniors run at the back of the max grid. (I'll pass thanks).
and like mentioned above Getting used to the increased speed is going to be tough. _________________ Arrow AX-8/ Rotax Sr. |

| I,m not 100% sure but I think you will be in his option year. At that weight you would have to add alot of lead to get to weight in JR. |
