We just blew up an engine. Took it apart and it was obvious that the exhaust valve had been hitting ever so slightly the piston. Only problem was by the valve. This is the second case I've seen of this problem and that's with only 25 drives here.

Has anyone else had a problem like this?

Should it be covered under their engine warranty?

How often are you cleaning your exhaust valve?

Yes, Valve in the right way all the time. I know it looks like it ought to be the other way, but that is the way the manual shows.

The piston is perfect all the way around except where the exhaust valve is and there it looks like it has been scraping the valve.

And on signs of any lean condition either.

Mike, with the powervalve installed properly, is the bottom of the valve flush with the top of the exhaust port (when fully open), or is there a lip?

Anyway, I thought the manual was pretty hazy on the proper way to install. :-)
