I'd pass on the one in the middle. The "blueprinted" one on the right with the straight through modification looks like it would work best on my air pump.

There is always someone who thinks that they can beat Tech, these examples were found very quickly using a ball bearing of the correct size dropped into the exhaust and rolled around the bend or in the case of these examples not rolled around the bend _________________ Dellorto, Mikuni and Keihin Jetting & Kart Set-up Software

Assuming all three would pass tech, I would want the one that produces the best lap time. Damn, there's that testing thing again.
Are you trying to show that rotax pipe specas are all over the map? |

John, you mean using a ball bearing one size larger than legal? Which outlet diameter is legal in your eyes. The dime(middle), quarter(left) or half-dollar(right) sized one?
Are they really being manufactured with that much discrepancy or were they opened up, modified and re-powder coated? |

William, enlarge that picture to 400% and see how much more amazing it is
That pipe on the right is probably worth 3/4 - 1 second per lap at a longer track. |

Ball bearings are used at legal size and if they don't fit through then you have an illegal pipe, those in the picture are illegal modified pipes. _________________ Dellorto, Mikuni and Keihin Jetting & Kart Set-up Software

Can someone please tell me what the legal size for the bearings is? I checked the documents and can't find any reference other than to say "must be un-modified".........
I would like to check the variations in a few mufflers, a baseline would be useful. |

What size is the test ball.
Having bought a used motor from a guy in this thread I would like to check this. _________________ Arrow AX-8/ Rotax Sr. |

Keep in mind a ball bearing won't be able to check for a pipe that is modified with an oval shape...
