Of course! They've managed to hose the TaG concept and are making inroads into stock moto, so the movers and shakers need another project. Rolling Eyes

The manufacturer says it "is designed for the ambitious hobby - kart - driver." So I don't think they seriously think anyone is gonna make a class for it.

65 HP on a regular kart is pretty much insane, on most sprint tracks you'll be just as fast with half that or less. Might be fun on road courses, but my interest was for the dirt oval crowd. Unfortunately it's too big for UAS rules so unless somebody is running a true RWYB class it won't work.

They brought the Aixro over quite a while ago and nobody's started a class for that either. But, I sure would like a true unlimited class for sprint racing Very Happy

Cheers,

Looks like about $5200 usd without shipping or accessories. They don't have a US distributor yet, but more important....

It's not a 4 cycle Laughing

Might be fun on a really big track but it's too big to be legal for UAS racing, maybe two of them on a superkart? Don't know how they'd do without a gearbox though.

Cheers,

No comparison, I have both, we race at high altitude and the Rubig is an Aixro killer, Rubig is coming out with a new lighter model in Sept 2011, it only goes to 7000 rpm and its very reliable. I LOVE it, its fun to pass all the shifter karts.

The only thing "new" about this is the web page.

They have been promoting this motor for several years ...
......not a huge take up yet !
65hp is not impressive considering its a 650cc two stroke race motor
( thats 5 times the capacity of a Rotax Max !)

You are right Kirk, we are the USA importer for the Rubig, the engines will be here next week. We will be updating our website with new pictures and information for the Rubig Mega Kart engine as soon as they arrive. Looking forward to driving this monster! You should too Kirk as I promised you a demo ride!
