Well.Marc, you obviously know how to tune and gear better than us!
Not all our fast laps are with an enduro nose , either. Like I have said, on many tracks, no significant difference in overall lap times.
But let a guy win that has a nose on over someone who doesnt...even if its Gingerman and the only reason they won according to some CIK guys is the nose!!!
So, where we gonna have our own LTNs, Marc??? |

Great questions regarding our "own" LTN's buddy... I would have to say that the Putnam Dart Kart/SKUSA region race will have LOTS of entries... that Saturday event wouldn't surprise me if there weren't 50 125's there... so let's plan on that one!
Sunday's Great Lakes SKUSA race should be good too..2 years ago there was a huge field at the regional at grattan with over 30 I think... it was awesome.

I'm not too surprised, John. I think that is what is appearing to be the regional influence. How many SCK RR are their in SoCal over the course of a year and how long is the racing season? If your season is a year long essentially, a comparable # of enduro event s for here would then be in the 30+ number/year (comparing to the 15 or we cram into a 6-month season). If you held 30 RR per year, don't you think it would be likely that you may develope a noticable number who would only race the RR events?
Our series seem populated by folks who run predominatelt only long track events and have been running the "open" body work for the last 7 years or so and the class continues to grow every year. It seems the bulk of your racers are crossovers where the bulk of ours a dedicated RR for the most part.
I'm with Tim, what was it...three years ago when SKUSA ran with the MSES at teh last M-O event and the SAturday class had close to 100 125s in it? Heck the last two years it has been 60-70 125s at the last M-O race without SKUSA there!
BTW, MARc, any truth to the rumor you hide a pitbull under that Fairing? |

Charlie-
Not a pit bull.. I have a pug... much smaller than a pit bull... but he never hides under the fairing.
I am experiementing with taping a "red bull" under there... for that "middle of that race starting to get tired" feeling.

The majority of our 125 drivers to both
we a few that run just the long tracks.
One day we had a race at the Streets of
Willow and some of the guys ran our race packed up and ran the 125 race next door at the sprint track when they finished the second heat.As far as our schedule goes
we have 7 to 8 races in our season but
we start in January and finish in November
we take most of the summer off so people can go to the nationals.

Erik, a few years back we ran the IKF RR GNs at Texas World...I think it was over the 4th of July. It was like 106d with track temps over 140d! Lot of ...attrition... as I recall. Tires went away after only two laps!
Better bring your winter coat when you come to RA. YOu do have a winter coat, don't you? |

I think those who don't want to run bodywork other than CIK are lasy.
First off it looks better to have a noise piece. Hell, my dad used to run long tracks with a sprint yamaha pipe kart one weekend and have less then a week to take the body work off, change axles because we use an axle clutch on the long tracks, and put a clutch on the engine.
What is the big deal to take an hour to build a noise piece on your kart and 5 minutes to put it on and off. Changing gears, which you have to do when going to different tracks, takes 5 minutes.
I vote for bodywork. |

1) Now Dave, you can do better than that. I may be a lot of things, but lazy isn't one of them. I also disagree your your declaration that that big buldous nose looks better. |

| OK GUYS LISTEN UP. ITS OBVIOUS THAT WE HAVE A HEATED DISCUSSION HERE ON CIK VS' FIBERGLASS BODYWORK. WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE IS THAT EVERYONE WANTS THE ADVANTAGE, I WILL LET YOU IN ON SOME PERSONAL INSIGHT. DUCK YOUR HEAD AS FAR DOWN AS POSSIBLE WHILE KEEPEING AN EYE ON YOUR DATA AQUISITION PANEL. MOST LIKELY YOUR RPM'S WILL INCREASE AND YOUR SPEED WILL GO UP. THATS JUST WHAT I HAVE SEEN. ALSO SPRINT FIBERGLASS BODYWORK CUTS A HUGE HOLE IN THE AIR. FROM WHAT KNOWLEDGE I HAVE OF AERODYNAMICS, BIG NOSES WOULDNT HELP UNLESS THERE WAS SOME SORT OF TAIL TO CLAM THE AIR TURBULENCE OFF THE BACK OF THE KART. THAT SEEMS TO ME TO BE THE ONLY WAY TO GAIN A SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE. TO BAD ITS ILLEGAL, SO BASICALLY WHAT I AM TRYING TO SAY HERE IS...... WHATS THE PIONT OF WASTING YOUR TIME TRYING TO PUT A HUGE HEAVY PEICE OF CRAP ON THE FRONT END OF YOUR KART!!! SORRY IF I OFFENDED ANYONE PREVIOUSLY BUT I AM NOT SAYING THAT YOU SHOULD OR SHOULDNT MANDATE CIK OR SPRINT BODYWOK. KEEP THE RULES OPEN AND LET PEOPLE DO AS THEY PLEASE. IF THEY THINK THAT SPRINT BODYWORK IS THE WAY THEN FINE,,,, LET THEM LOOK STUPID!! |

I can only speak for SCK,the 125 classes
are our biggest classes and the reason why is they can run their karts from the sprint track to the Roadrace track and only have to change the gear.If we allowed anything
but CIK bodywork the class would be history
because nobody would want to run it since it
would require diffrent bodywork to be competitive
The 100cc class use to be huge in the 80's
until the full bodywork came in and IKF
didn't do a thing to stop it.A few years later the classes died because the
were no longer crossover classes from the sprint track.

Patrick,
FYI, typing in all caps on the Internet denotes shouting to some and thus considered rude. Not only that, lack of upper/lower case letters makes it really hard to read.
Thanks.
