Not particularly hard on tires. Last year I was able to race all weekend on a one race old set that I used at Hallett on a hot day and then I was able to race again with them at Garnett and Afton I think. I did rotated them on the rims after the weekend and side by side from Saturday to Sunday. there is a lot of Right hand turns that make the left tires wear a little more.

Chris, my guys thought it was hard on tires. Of course, it was HOT, which it should not be this time, crooked, and pretty abrasive.

2 down 2 to go!!! Very Happy
Any volunteers to put new bodywork on Lindsay's???????

Roger,
Set chassis up right and it's not hard on tires!!! Laughing Laughing Laughing
I do believe the cooler weather will make a difference on tires. Any track that is demanding we run on during the hottest time of the year, will make a difference on tires in my opinion.

MPH entry form and event schedule is on the KART web (www.kart.org)

People have asked what type gear ratio to run at MPH. I can tell you that we gear MPH 2-3 teeth more then HPT, Afton or Barber in a laydown Piston Port kart. We have on 15-74, 33" tires.

Any you KART shifter guys help on the shifters??

You can go on the KART web and click on MPH and watch a video of the track.

Sounds like the numbers should be good. Appreciate those from the East who are coming, you won't be dissapointed!!!!!

All but done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI,
MT POCKETS RACING will be bringing to all the 2013 RUSSELL KARTING SPECIALTIES KART/MARRS events a ANIMAL kart as a rent to ride. Margay laydown, 4 wheel brakes. Kart will be race ready and if the person who rents it can drive, it will be at the front with "THE MAN" as the wrench. $200 per weekend. Driver pays entry and pit pass and supplies own driving gear, rest is included. If interested, PM or e-mail me at donnaandkelly@hotmail,com.

I was informed that shifters should gear for around 98-100 mph top speed or so. I set up two mod CR125's at 18/23 on 34" static tire circumference.

Can't tell ya how that will work out.....I've not been to Hastings yet.....but I do know who to ask. Wink

Two more weeks, but who's counting?
Hey, all, as some of you may know from my raving about Valentino's Pizza, I love it! And because of that, we (Baldus, Jim E., MARRS) thought it might be a great idea to have a pizza party Saturday night @ MPH. Haven't worked everything out just yet, but we will be ordering pizza to be delivered to the track, and have some beer and pop available. Count on it, and I will circulate through the pits during the day to get a head count on how many to order for.
See ya.

Sounds great to me! I'm looking forward to the event for sure. I am down to only about one hundred 5 min. jobs and I'll be ready to head north with 3+ karts. We'll probably load up and head north to Hastings before noon Friday. Hoping for a great weekend.

Linda, I won't say that one word four letter word, but I will say that I would love to use those tires that have been drying out on the tire rack for the last several years!!!
