I Have never used a SMC clutch or serviced one. It was easy to take apart and according to the factory instructions I have the wieghts and sprimgs right. Where I need input is what grit of sandpaper is best to deglaze the floaters?SMC reccomends 300 grit. In My Horstsman I use a much rougher grit. The clutch is going on a Sprint Enduro 4 Hole Can Yamaha with a gear ratio around 5.0 to 5.5 Any suggestions on setting it up will be greatly appreciated. And is the SMC clutch coolant the best or is there something better? BTW its the Gold Axle Clutch.

I don't think the grit matters much just so long as you get the "mirror" off the floaters and apply a nice crosshatch. It will be back to "polished" soon enough.

The SMC oil is good if you can find it anymore, but I like Redline synthetic ATF, b/c it will not char.

Use the brass weights for your ratio.

Beware new springs. Last year's batch were too long and stiff and gave me fits. The springs should not be difficult to wedge into the housing, nor should it be easy ... they should neatly tuck in. If this describes your current springs, keep using them.
