the forums have been kinda slow as a whole lately I wanted to always ask this question. Are people really using all the throttle, brake, a tire tuck readouts with Race Studio? Is it nonsense? I use it to see what temps on the engines give me the lowest times and what's the best gearing but that's about it. _________________ Don't get stuck in someone else's discarded chewing gum with your thought process. |

Some people swear by using data like that, others just go by feel. Whatever works for you. All that data can be very powerful. But I've also seen a lot of people get bogged down tuning their kart with a computer instead of simply listening to driver feedback.
One of my favorite tools recently is the GPS. In a team settings it's really good for everyone to compare against each other's sectors. _________________ T.J. Koyen

A driver can remember perhaps 10% of thing that happen on a single lap if he is really good. Perhaps that is good enough but it wastes track time because you are not capturing all you could. GPS is so laggy it is debatable and it appears it is only on karting that it has gained a foothold. _________________ understeer happens on road courses and usually is pronounced with a British accent. I was really into logging data and seeing what effected what until I ended up getting "good enough". I find that too much analysis takes all the fun out of it. I just use it for EGT graphs and lap times.
I have talked with a guy who went to SKUSA nationals recently and his only job on the team was data analysis. _________________ "Karting Expert Since 2014" |

+1 on what Ray said. You can end up wayyyy too deep, especially if you are both the driver and the data analyst. _________________ CES Grattan pre-entry is open. TaG, Shifter, KPV, KT100, Animal\LO206, enduro or superkart.
