My stator on my 98 cr125 has some damage to the copper coil on it. I've been trying to get my motor started but I can't get spark. I've already tried 2 different cdi's and 3 different coil's with no luck. So now I'm looking at the stator and saw the damage to the copper coil. What do you think?

If anyone has an extra stator 98 or 99, let me know.

hahaha..

I had the exact same thing happen when I got rocks in the stator housing. There is a house out there that will re-wind these things. But if I were you I'd just buy a new one.

I'd sell you my old one, but it looks worse than yours!

Ouch. An ignition killer, all right. Replacement time.

That kind of thing is exactly why we use covers over the left side of the engines on our karts. The places we run just may have the one rock or other debris chunk which could take a bite out of the windings like you've experienced.

For those with limited clearance, the new flat cover from the guys at Swedtech looks to be the answer. Save the Stators!

P.S. Ya want to sell the little tab piece that is held on by one screw in the top of the photos? Wink
