Thanks to Russell Karting Specialties for their sponsorship. We know that during this economic climate sponsorship $$ are hard to come by and we all appreciate it.

2012 Banquet's next weekend. Will be great to see everyone. Sure glad it wasn't this weekend as it usually is. We would be shoveling snow to get things out of garage. _________________ Keep on kartin' llb.

Some really disappointing news: Wes Oakley fell and broke his hip and will be having surgery later today (Tuesday, Mar. 5) @Hutchinson, KS Regional Medical Center. His room # is 3305. We will keep you posted, but in typical Wes fashion, he told the doctor he had a Banquet to go to this Saturday and did he think Wes would be able to make it. Of course, unfortunately the doctor said "No". _________________ Keep on kartin' llb.

Well Sheet!
Poor Wes, I'm sure he's been looking forward to the banquet for some time. I wonder if I can talk Mel and Jeremy into a little drive to Hutch Saturday afternoon after we get a couple of engines rebuilt? |

I for one want to thank all those who have THANKED Jim at Russell Karting Specialties on here and/or contacted him. It is so nice to have a major sponsor along with all the class sponsors in which all 19 classes have sponsors for such a great series. Most the credit goes out to all the racers & families who support this series, THANKS!!!!
Banquet will be SUPER nice!!! Not real sure how the swap meet will be since the weatherman says rain!!
Outside some good awards for the drivers, wait till you see the door prizes!!! There will be NO ONE leaving without some type of good door prize!!! That's if I don't take them before!!!!!
As for Wes,
I have been in contact with his daughter. She will be calling me after the surgery this afternoon. They will be putting a pin in his hip and replacing the ball joint. He fell while shovling snow this past week but thought it was just a muscle till they went to the dr.. YES, he was more interested in getting out to come to the banquet then anything. I will be going to Hutch Thursday and will check on him while there.

Hope Wes's surgery went well. Wichita isn't that far from Hutchinson. Maybe someone will bring a piece of the banquet to Wes.
Hope to make it to a MARRS race this year. Y'all are the best!
P.S. Thanks to Jim Jr. for the sponsorship. IMHO it's money well spent! _________________ David Moffitt |
