Kinda quiet here. Hello, anyone home? Anyone?
I think I've finally figured out why so many here hate on Danica so much.
She has two things you guys want and know you can NEVER have.
Her and her job. |

| I'm not hating. She just gets way to much coverage for not the best finishes. Dale Jr is no different. |

I was impressed. She has a tendency to lose patience and try to make things happen. She didn't do that yesterday. Kept her composure and gained a lot of respect in the garage. _________________ Blaise Haynes

I've always felt racing was mostly mental, a chess match at high speeds. I don't see why anyone would be surprised that a woman would succeed in racing, especially one who is surrounded by people with a lot of experience willing to help her.
Danica gets a lot of attention, probably more than is deserved, but NASCAR has always had racers that received way more attention than deserved. Danica is just the latest. She's a karter that raced for a local shop (Coyote), so I guess I'm ok with that. |

She done good. Probably played it too conservatively though and could've finished higher up had she actually moved out of line but she ran a good clean race for the most part.
But the constant mentioning of her is absolutely sickening. Waltrip coaching her from the booth is especially bad. Makes the race almost more unwatchable than NASCAR already is. _________________ T.J. Koyen

Media did the same with Gordon and that's one of the reasons I hated him when he started ( and driving a chevy didn't help) _________________ Jeff DeMello

And she's probably right about that. Held her spot and got goobled up by the train. Still all in all started on pole, did lead some laps. Did not get run over, or crash. |

| It was a good run, and she accomplished the main misson, ie, more viewers. My boss, who doesn't know beans about racing, watched. I also saw Scott Speed finish 23rd running for a small team, with dish sponsorship. The tiff between Dish and Fox network had to be a Godsend for them, and hopefully they can get some more runs in rather than parking after a few laps. All in all I thought is was fine. The stands were full, ratings were up, and most important of all, no parts went flying into the crowd again. F1 in a couple of weeks, hope nbc does ok with it. |

I was happy to see a few under funded teams do well. There were 2 or 3 in the top 10 and with Daytona's purse being as large as it is that might add a few more races to their schedule. Regan Smith finished 7th, winning $411,000. Michael McDowell finished 9th and brought home $366,000. And JJ Yeley finished 10th and won $338,000. Those 3 are all low budget teams that I'm sure will be a big boost to their racing abilities this year. That is as exciting to me as the race itself. _________________ Blaise Haynes

After going to a tech school where I was trained by some guys who were former nascar mechanics and engineers I don't ever acknowledge anything in this sport anymore as being genuine. If I had a quarter for every story I was told about cheating that went unnoticed by the guys behind the scenes I would already be retired at 24.
How many pole positions has Danica had in her career prior to this race? |
