Yep saw that the whole time all I could think was what a dumb a$$. He wants to get the kid out of his hair for spring break so he trades for a 125 shifter kart, and that I sure wouldn't send my kid out by himself in a 125 shifter at 12.

Flipped the channel after they tried it on the indoor track... Didn't think it could get worse, then again it is "reality" TV

A friend was on a previous episode--the show is basically a fake. Hopefully this was just a carefully planned stunt like the rest of the show/

Yeah, the driver in this still looks suspiciously like the kid who was "trading" for the "rat rod" Laughing

Even though all TV requires a suspension of disbelief anytime somebody takes a racing kart on the street it makes me cringe....

Somebody with more money than brains in a high powered kart, that never happens.

All of the barter, auction, storage, pawn shows are to some extent or completely fake/staged. That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

There was a show on a couple of months ago called Money Barn on Animal Planet. A friend of the family (Alan Hostetter) was one of the 'players' on the show. My mother used to work for him and her and my step-father were at Alan's house the night of the premier. He had a pretty rude attitude on the show and my mom asked him if the producers told him what to say or how to act and he told her they were told to be themselves. No acting, no scripting. I would take that with a grain of salt but as well as we know him and his whole family I doubt he would lie to her.
