|
TS Racing Atlanta (TSRA) is pleased to announce its inaugural racing series at the Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) in Dawsonville, Georgia. The eight race, 2013 campaign will compete on the second Saturday of every month starting March 9. The season will conclude on October 12 with the ‘double points’ Vega Tires Nationals. The recently opened AMP kart track is .79 mile in length with 43’ of elevation change. The massive elevation changes make the kart track at AMP the most exciting facility in the world.
The races will be open to all karters for this inaugural 2013 season, featuring two cycle engine classes, and Vega spec tires for the series. The AMP karting class structure, ranging from Kid Karts to Shifters and the specific tire compound required for each class can be found on the TSRA website at: http://www.TSRacingatlanta.com/ClassStructure.html
TSRA is offering a tire special for the first series race on March 9. A complete set of four (4) Vega tires are being offered for the discounted price of $175 + tax for the 4.6/6.0 or 4.6/7.1 combinations. The 4.6/4.6 tire combination will be $165 + tax. Get your tire order in now to Bret Spaude at TSRacingatl@gmail.com . The spec rain tire is the Vega W5 compound. The races will run rain or shine.
Entry fees for the TSRA racing series will be $65 for non-AMP karting members who pre-register, and $70 for registration at the track. AMP karting members will receive a $15 registration discount on either type of entry. Pre-registration for the March 9 race will open on February 11 utilizing the MotorsportsReg.com website. Adult pit passes will be $12. Children 12 years old and under will be $8. Transponder rental will be $20 per race day or they can be purchased for $250 from TSRA.
Gates will open each race day at 7:30 AM with practice starting at 9:00 AM. The series rules and regulations and the complete series schedule can be found on the TSRA website at http://www.TSRacingatlanta.com/KartTrackRules.html . For additional information or if you have questions about the TSRA racing series at AMP, please contact Jim Fry at Jim@TSRacingatlanta.com
Ready to go racing but do not have a kart? TSRA will have a limited number of Yamaha engine karts available at each race for rent. Please contact Bret at TSRacingatl@gmail.com if you are interested.
For more information about AMP’s world class kart track or the benefits of their karting membership, see the AMP website at: http://www.atlantamotorsportspark.com/ , or contact Jim at jim@100mphlunch.com |

Two weeks from today is race day! Saturday, March 9th is our first race in the TS Racing Atlanta 2013 Racing Series at Atlanta Motorsports Park. I hope you are planning to join the fun. We have heard from some of you that our registration site was a little too complicated, so we have revised our form to hopefully make pre-registration a little easier for you. Please go to the TS Racing Atlanta home page as listed below and there you will find a link to the new entry blank. We would really appreciate it if you would take the time to pre-register. It will help us better prepare to serve you on race day and expedite getting you on the track.
http://www.tsracingatlanta.com/
In addition listed below and on the TS website is the race day schedule of activities. You will see it is a jam packed day with 2 practice sessions, qualifying, a 10 lap pre-final race and a 15 lap final race all on the challenging ‘A’ track layout. Who will climb the podium at the end of the day to claim their medal? As always, please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks,
Jim Fry

| Kyle I wish I could answer that for you, maybe Jim can chime in? I talked with him yesterday and I think so far they only have 8-10 people signed up (for all classes) but they have a bunch of people that say they will be there and sign up on race day. Hopefully people show up. I'm sitting this one out but ribs are feeling much much better so I'll get back out there next weekend probably. I'm for sure in for the next race, though I'm not in your class so doesn't help you much haha |

I thought about running Yamaha can and dealing with the ridiculously low weight but if the only have 8 karts registered ill just stick with barnsville they have over ten karts alone in Yamaha. Who knows maybe amp will start attracting more racers _________________ Kyle Luttrell

Only going to get more if people show up, if everyone takes the approach you're taking then it wont
Show up and have fun! If nothing else bring the kart and prepare to race if there is a good group. If not just come hang out! I'll be there even though I'm not racing till the 2nd race.
Hopefully the turnout grows. They say that a bunch have said they are registering at the gate so hopefully that's true |

I don't know if I looked at that site correctly but it appears that they only have 4 entries. I was going to ride up today but wouldn't be much fun being the only kart racing Yamaha. _________________ Kyle Luttrell

Think they had 5 shifters, 5 TAG Sr, 2 Jr Rotax and a handful (4'sh) of kid/cadet karts.
It was fun to hang out with everyone today. Hopefully this grows quickly and next month more people show up. I know I'll be there in the TAG class! |

Well that's pretty sad for such a nice facility.
They need to listen to more of the locals if they are looking to increase kart counts. _________________ Kyle Luttrell

| I hate to say it but I don't think you will get many people out for Yamaha can class with that low of a weight for sr class I haven't raced anyone that could get to that weight or even close. And I have to ask what do you guys have against 4 strokes ? Or is this a TS racing thing for two stroke? Just asking would love to race there because its less than 40 minute drive for me. |

| FYI I am not affiliated with the track, just a karter! Weight is something on my list of things to talk to them about, for rotax but I'll bring up the Yamaha weights too. Hopefully Jim is reading all of this too. |
