| What are everyones thoughts of the plans to invigorate the shifter class at NCMP? I am thinking of getting in but wanted everyones idea if you think this class will eventaully successful. I like the idea of a shifter kart but the TAG karts seem to be the place where all of the competition is. |

This is what I found on the website:
Attention shifter kart enthusiasts, a group of like minded kart owners have plans to invigorate the class for 2013. At the core is bringing more karts and drivers to the race track to share the incredible adventure experienced in a shifter kart. As we all know, nothing makes that adventure more enjoyable than having someone on the track racing with you.
Participation is our focus, all levels of equipment and talent have a place to play. If you currently participate in shifter racing, thought about trying the class or have a kart that has been sitting for a season or two, we would like to hear from you. We are not about changing the existing format and rules, rather we desire to bring racers of all levels together on targeted KRA race days for a rewarding and satisfying “day at the track”. Please contact Rob Lehmann (260)348-3517 for more details |

Thanks James (great name BTW). I think I recall reading that now that you posted it.
Seems like the right approach for this part of the country IMO. By that I mean it welcomes all karts (motors) and drivers and runs selected events (lower costs).
Maybe Rob is on eKarting? _________________ GPI Racing | WildKart | Maxter | Hoosier

Sounds like how NorthEast Shifter Series Started and look at it now just a couple of years later..
Limiting people to stock honda is crap. It's not cheaper, it doesn't make for better races, and it's not more reliable. It's all just politics and business's trying to strong arm the market.
Let all 125cc shifters race together and have fun. That's what it's all about. |

Well you might have opened a can of worms there but: A effin men!
Thats how the CES series runs right now and we often see 30+ shifters at their events.
ICC/KZ, Mod or Stock, they run together. Open tires, but with 25min races you wont be running too soft! But again, Bridgestone, Vega, MG, Hoosier, Burris, Dunlop whatever, just get your kart here, have some fun and we'll go from there. _________________ GPI Racing | WildKart | Maxter | Hoosier

Who Cares, Let it be wide open!!!
I'm so over the stock honda BS and cheerleaders..
KZ is so much better in every way..
NESS is also 30+ shifters at every race and always a fun time.
The future is bright for both CES and NESS!!! |

I would like to point out that there have been no rule changes nor class structure changes from the past at NCMP.
I'm working with Rob Lehman and Mike Adams from NCMP to try to regain the shfter turn outs that were very strong up til the last two years. _________________ Greg Wright

CES has a race at Grattan on Jul 13th, so might be tough. I'd love to run an NESKS race, chances are slim this year to be completely honest though. Are you guys running the road course or the kart track there? _________________ GPI Racing | WildKart | Maxter | Hoosier

The Midwest ProKart Challenge will offer the Open Shifter class for 2013 at all six races (press release with schedule soon), and the last double-event weekend will be at NCMP on September 13-15.
If it has a gearbox, bring it, we will fit you in. ICC, Built Motos, 80cc, Yamaha, TMs, bring-em, race-em!
The New Castle event will host the first annual "Midwest Shifterfest" and will crown an Open Shifter Sprint Champion for the series. Trust me, you won't want to miss this one!
Details forthcoming and additional ideas are always welcome. We've working on a number of very cool ideas to make this a HUGE event. _________________ Respectfully,

| Jim McMahon, without knowing for sure, it should be the kart track not the road course and I hope we can or will run it backwards. Me and Randy liked backwards better. |
