| Race One is underway after two rounds of practice. Race Monitor is working, so you can follow all of the action. I'll try to post results here too. |

Saturday was a great day of racing with blue clear skies, and a light breeze. There was one red flag after a driver had a spin in turn 4 and on exit of the track the tires caught and there was a slow roll over. He was up and joking with the safety workers as soon as they got to him. The racing was very close and fast as most classes finished with a last lap pass or attempt.
Today we have continued mild temps and clears skies in the forcast, we are looking for more of the same close and fast races today. _________________ www.southernkartclub.com |

I would like to extend a HUGE thanks to all of the racers, workers and staff for a great weekend. It was fantastic weather and the racing was very close! I appreciate the fellowship and the fun we have at the track. I cannot say enough about all of our volunteers! They show up to work so you can have fun, please thank them in person next time you are at the track.
For a good grin, look at this video-

This video was filmed at Roebling Road and when the police car takes off, he leaves from next to the registration building. The dirt/mud scenes were filmed at the ATV park next door-

I also want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who made the weekend so much fun...Dominic, Nick, Dave, Mark, Jackie, Connie and Sherrie (and anyone else I missed).
The weather was perfect, the racing fast and close, and the BBQ Saturday night was mighty tasty!
If you weren't there you missed a great event. The Southern Kart Club rocks! _________________ CRG DD2 #95 |

BTW:
For those who didn't come down:
The weather was incredibly good. Sunshine and 70's. It doesn't get any better. I came home to 16 inches of snow.
Saturday night a bunch of us went to the Moon River Brewpub in Savannah. Great food and wonderful beer.
Great event and a wonderful time.
Thanks to all.

Thom: You leave Alan Lidke alone!!!!!!!!
Miss you guys. Thanks to the budget sequestration me and wife both are looking at a 20% paycut beginning 3 March so it was financially unwise to make the long trip. Hopefully it will pass and we'll get down there for rest of races. |
