If you are a roadracer, or think you might be interested in being one, and Hastings, NE is anywhere on your radar, be sure and mark your 2013 calendars for April 20 & 21. Here the 2012 season is not even over and KART MARRS has already announced that date and track for the first race of the 2013 season.
Anyone that's been there will tell you this facility has it all--great wide fun track, nice pits, wonderful restrooms, and the folks that run the place love racers and bend over backwards to make us feel welcome.
Hope to see a great crowd and some new faces. _________________ Keep on kartin' llb.

Who would think there is such a wondrful Race track in the middle of Nebraska? The people that run the races there are just super and went out of their way to put on a great race just for Us. Thank You MPH P.S. The track is very fun to race on and watch. Over half of the track is visible from the Pits. BE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! _________________ Legacy K.A.R.T. Racing Wichita,KS |

Less than 3 months until the 2013 KART MARRS' season opener. Seeing so many friends @ RC's for the HAYWIRED event last Saturday made us anxious to go racing. Can't wait! _________________ Keep on kartin' llb.

One thing I know Kelly, is if you were present at RC's you didn't miss the full moon. I think you could have spent half the night on the toilet and still saw a full moon.
Back to the thread, Hastings is a pretty sweet adventure! "George" the man in charge of the track is phenomenal! I don't recall any track owner ever wanting to just chat with racers on his track....he's just interested in making an already awesome experience better!
George will give you a front seat ride around the track, or you can take your pit ride around the track to determine the race line.
It might be flat, but it's certainly FAST! Great track for some quality pack racing...IMHO!
Stole from Austin on youtube...

Thanks Bryan. If that doesn't get the juices flowing, you must not be alive. _________________ Keep on kartin' llb.

Its only been 3 months since our last race but for Brad and I, it seems like a lot longer since we didn't make all the races we wish we could have last season. Needless to say, we'll be back full time this year and cannot WAIT to make so more fun memories on the track. We missed Hastings last year because of my surgery and Brads job but no excuses this year, Read Team will be there!
Here is a funny little video from a race last year of Brad and I to help get everyone excited for the new season! Thanks to Caleb Hooser (Shannon's Son) for the great commentary added to make it a little more funny. Turn on your speakers and enjoy! On Board with Brad Read.

As everyone has mentioned, this track has it all!!! Besides being a perfect layout, I have never had such a GREAT track owner and workers to work with then those at MPH as if anyone should know, "THE MAN" would!!!
I would say that the first of March, KART should have the MPH event information on there web site (www.kart.org). Got a question, can contact myself at donnaandkelly@hotmail.com or Maysha at the KART office.
Hope to see everyone there!!!
Lindsay,
Even though that is a AWESOME video (love the music - perfect), better be dam happy YOU didn't have a camera on your kart at the 2012 nationals. At least in the video you posted, he got to see the leader the whole race, can you say that about the nationals when Brad was leading?? HAHA (welcome son)... |

He had my motor on. I felt for the poor kid, he needed a win. if I had only had the faster motor on, I would have won that race and THEN been in the wall AFTER the flag instead of 8 seconds before it dropped. But what matters most, this one was on video! lol hahahaha |

It was not Brad's motor that made him that fast it was how well his kart handled, he was HOOKED up for 45 minutes not 5 minutes like the rest of us. _________________ Austin |
