Fellow Karters,
Can anyone offer a suggested material to cover a seat such as used by TIllet. The stuff needs to stretch and have fairly good wear resistance, and it seems as if woven products would be best. I have tried Ozite carpet, different furniture clothes, and even spandex. Anyone had success with a different material on a seat lots of compound curves? Material must stretch.

Thanks in advance for your serious answer.

Mike

Hi Mike,

You might look at putting a G-PAD kit instead. Does even a better job at reducing vibes, etc.

I use carpet underlay which is just like a thin recycled foam on my seat and just duct tape it in Smile on the bottom and 2 strips up the back I tape in 2 bits of rubber anti slip matting which is cloth like and I could sit in my seat from hours Smile Carpet stuff like the Tillet seat covering can cause friction burn between your leathers and skin.

The carpet underlay we got for free from local company that had loads of off cuts about and the anti slip matting was maybe £3-4 a roll Wink

Mike,

We've covered our enduro seats with Fleece from the fabric store. Spray adhesive works best, heavy amounts of glue will soak through so you have to be a bit careful. It streches, a SK seat will be tough.

Any material you choose will wear. The fleece is so cheap that we can do it every year.

Spray on flocking would look sweet, not very durable but cool for the first few races anyway.

Good uck!

Mike you could also call Tri Tex. They do aircraft and automotive interiors we use them at the shop for the sports car interiors.
They're in columbus. Ask for RJ, he's the owner, tell him mike from evans told you to call.
