Memberships are flowing in nicely. Thanks for all the support!
What's great is not only do we have some new names signing up but also some that have been away for a couple of years. Exciting times!
Look for a announcement over the next couple of weeks including the 2012 point standings and the 2013 class structure. _________________ Live in the midwest and have a TaG, Shifter, KPV, KT100, Animal\LO206, enduro or superkart?

OK 2012 points are being given a final checkover by Dave larson and co and will be published in the next couple of days.
In the meantime, I'd like to put a sheet together with a list of classes/karts and suggested starting gear ratios for the different tracks. Something to help newcomers a little.
Post up with any info you have (Class, motor, gearing, track) and I'll distill it down onto the sheet I'm working on. Naturally I'd like to have most/all classes (or whatever is similar) covered in the sheet. _________________ Live in the midwest and have a TaG, Shifter, KPV, KT100, Animal\LO206, enduro or superkart?

Are we going to get confirmation on kart numbers that we listed on the membership application?
I wasn't a member before so I don't know if my preferred number was already used or not. I'd like to know so I have the right numbers on for Gateway. _________________ Laukaitis Racing Engines

Maybe I'm wrong, or maybe it changed but I though the CES position on rain was, you could race for the trophies if it rains, but everyone entered got rain points the same.
BTW, Jim thanks for the Swap meet plug, anyone coming, stop by and say hi _________________ Bob Vehring

Yep, this appears to be correct. Dave sent me clarification on this a couple of days ago. It might have missed the rule book last year, but will be in there for '13 for sure. Personally I think rain points are lame, but it is what it is.

No worries, we have your event on the CES website as well. Thanks for all your support.
In other news......we got our welcome package from Motorsport Reg today so working on the back end of things to get the online registration ready to go. Still a ways out, but progress being made.
Be sure to setup an account for yourself at www.motorsportreg.com. Its free to do so and will save time for all concerned. _________________ Live in the midwest and have a TaG, Shifter, KPV, KT100, Animal\LO206, enduro or superkart?

Subject change!
Was just thinking this the other day. What do most sprint racers think of when they hear enduro racing? I think most people think big tracks like Road America or Mid Ohio. I think CES is a bit of a hybrid. Blackhawk, Grattan, Gingerman are like big sprint tracks. They are a little pit of both. I sometimes think that the work enduro turns people off. Or the term road racing is lazy and tracks two long for karts. I honestly think thats the case with some tracks but not the tracks on the CES schedule.
I think it needs to marketed and talked about different then it is.
Thoughts. _________________ http://bridgemanbroskarting.blogspot.com/

I agree Keith but tell that to Sprint racers!
Grattan is one of the most fun tracks period! Besides the front straight, it feels like a BIG sprint track. I think if some of the top sprint racers raced this track. It would help spread the word better on the fun they are missing out on!
Now its just more or less the road guys talking to themselves. |
