The heat range has little to no effect on the operating temp of the engine.

Would you go to a leaner jet? Or should I change the gas mixture( it's at 50:1 right now)

Do not try and control engine temp by leaning out the jet. Choose the jet that makes the best power and gets the right color on the inside of the pipe. Then leave it alone.

Tape the radiator, and calibrate your temp sensor.

I road race with my rotax so my gas/oil mix is going to be different. We run 33:1. We use MaxJet to get into the ballpark and tune from there.

I will never understand why people don’t believe that; upto the point of detonation, (in which case the EGT goes down) the hotter the exhaust temp, the more power you make. What is so hard to believe about that?? If you had an EGT gauge, you would see it.

Al,

We all know that smoke and mirrors make much more horsepower than physics and science. When will you just accept this and try to benefit from it financially!
